Tom’s Experience hiking to Lower Eagle Falls:
Lower Eagle Falls is a part of Emerald Bay State Park and can most easily be reached by taking the trail down to Emerald Bay.
You will walk past the Vikingholms Castle and there will be signs pointing you towards Eagle Falls.
There is one fork at a bridge and you don’t want to cross the bridge. Continue up river and eventually you will make it to Lower Eagle Falls with a nice view point.
Total mileage for the trip from the Emerald Bay parking lot is about 2.6 miles.
Dogs are not allowed at Emerald Bay and there is a fee to park at the Emerald Bay parking. Upper Eagle Falls can be reached from the same parking lot and is a short hike.
Trail Info: The Emerald Bay parking is well marked by the side of the road off of highway 89. There is a fee to park. The trail down to Emerald Bay is well marked and often very crowded.
