Tom’s experience hiking the Grotto Falls Trail:
The Grotto Falls Trail is a very family friendly and fun short hike up to a beautiful waterfall.
The trail is short about half a mile round trip. It is a little steep near the beginning.
Eventually you will need to cross the river a number of times and there are narrow planks or logs you can use if your balance is good so you don’t have to get your feet wet.
The trail leads to a beautiful waterfall that is surrounded by cliffs. You can play under the waterfall if you’d like but the pool isn’t very deep.
Dogs are allowed on this trail.
There are quite a few parking spots but they can fill quickly. Since it is such a short hike usually you wont have to wait to long to find a spot.
Trail Info: From Salt Lake, take exit 254 to Payson and turn left onto Payson Main Street. Continue south until Main Street meets 100 North. Turn left and travel to 600 East and turn right. You will follow this road for about 10 miles and the sign for Grotto Falls Trail will be on the left along a large hairpin turn.
