Tom’s experience at Jumpoff Canyon:
Jumpoff Canyon is a short loop hike in Ogden, Utah.
You start off hiking almost in backyards as you follow the trail, but eventually you hike past them and come out above them with a great view of Ogden.
There are plenty of signs to help guide you along the trail. I would recommend hiking the loop clockwise and following the north trail.
Eventually you will reach a service road that Pine View Water uses to service the open canal along the mountainside. Be careful if water is flowing in the canal, it could be dangerous for little children if they fell in.
Hike along the canal for a bit and then follow the trail back down to your car. It really isn’t a very spectacular hike but it could make for a fun bike ride.
Dogs are allowed but must be on leash.
Trail Info: The trail is located across the street from the St. James Catholic Church near 450 N. Harrison Blvd. There is only parking for about 8 cars but there is plenty of other parking near the trailhead.
Harrison Trailhead: 41.266626,-111.947409
