Tom’s Experience visiting La Coca Falls:
La Coca Falls is a neat waterfall that is just off of highway 191 in the El Yunque National Forest of Puerto Rico.
There isn’t much of a hike to see the falls and you can see them as you drive by, but they are still very pretty and worth a stop.
There are two parking lots; one right before and one right after the waterfall.
You can climb along the rocks right up to the waterfall if you would like. Wear shoes with great traction and that can get muddy.
There are also signs that warn of flash floods. Be careful when you are near the waterfall or river if it has been raining.
It is a rain forest so come prepared with rain gear.
Trail Info: The waterfall is located at KM 8.1 on Road 191 in the El Yunque National Forest. There are signs and parking lots before and after the waterfall. If you miss the fall you must have been driving with your eyes closed. El Yunque is a rain forest and the only rain forest that is managed by the United States National Forest Service. There is no entrance fee for the national forest but it is only opened from 7:30am until 6:00pm.
